69 Lake

Is another acclimatization day and a great walk in its own right. Heading towards the north of the Callejón de Huaylas, we drive to the buried town of Yungay, which was totally covered by an avalanche, and ascend toward the Cordillera Blanca. We visit the Llanganuco lakes (3850m) en-route to Cebollapampa where the second of our acclimatization treks will begin. We ascend to Lake 69 (4500m), which lies at the base of Chacraraju Peak. During lunch we can enjoy the magnificent views, we coming down to Cebollapampa and then driving back to Huaraz.
